The answers to find the slope intercept

Mathematics
2 answers:
Karolina [17]4 years ago

Step-by-step explanation:

It's rise

     run

To find the slope, you can always solve it by doing these steps:

  •    Pick two whole points
  •    Then, use this formula: Y2 - Y1

                                                     X2 -X1

  • Finally, you'll get your answer

More Info:

  • If the slope is negative, you have to go down/left
  • If the slope is positive, you have to go up/right

Hope this helps and I hope this is the brainliest answer

ANSWERS:

(1) y= -3/2x+4
(2) y=-5/3x
(3) y=6/2x +2
(4) y= 5/3x + 3

EXPLANATION:

To find an equation for the graph, remember the slope intercept form of y=mx+b. Your equation will be formed based on this. ⇩

Let's use the first graph as an example. The first thing you have to do us find the slope. You do this by finding rise/ run between 2 points. On the graph the points differ by 3 points up, and 2 points to the side. Since the graph goes to the left it counts as negative. This gives us the slope of -3/2. You now have the hard part done!

We then have to find the y intercept. This is simply by seeing where the line crosses on the y axis. On graph 1 it crosses on +4.

We now just have to substitute what we already know into the equation y= mx+b. I will show below how to do this step by step.

y=mx+b

y=slope(x)+y intercept

y= -3/2+4
