Answer:

Barter means to exchange things without using money.

Explanation:

Sara Teasdale was an American poet who was born in St. Louis in 1884. The poem uses several rhetorical devices, such as metaphors (which are implicit comparisons between one thing and another) to convey the meaning and tone. Syntax refers to the selection of words and their order in the sentence, and it is also used to express the meaning. Simile is another type of comparison used in the poem, it can be noticed by the use of the words like and as (it shouldn't be confused with a metaphor, in this case, the comparison is explicit.) An example of it would be Music like a curve of gold/Scene of pine trees in the rain.

What does Orwell mean by “primitive patriotism"?
aalyn [17]

When Orwell mentioned about primitive patriotism, he meant that the people were silenced, oppositions were also silenced and whatever was done was unopposed without contradiction. The people were drowned and only one objective was pursed and it was pursed anyhow.

What is Primitive Patriotism?

Primitive patriotism is a system where there is no opposition to the current authority. The citizens are bullied to keep quiet and blindly follow the lead of the authorities. In this system, anybody that dares to oppose will be silenced and dealt with.

When Orwell mention Primitive patriotism in his book, he described a very ugly scenario where the ruler watches everyone and appropriately silence anyone who dares to question his authority. Everyone is forced to follow the lead.

Levart [38]

Explanation:

When we are writing a letter, first, we must include our full address, date, and the address of the recipient. After that, we can start writing.

Dear Mark, I have so much to tell you. Everything is different in this town since you are gone. There are many things that had happened.

At home, everything is alright and at school too. I know I had bad my whole life but now I have good ones, trust me. My mother told me that because of that we will go to Japan but we will see. I do not smoke cigarettes anymore. I know that some things sound deceived but you can trust me. Everything has changed. I hang out now with many older students but I do not see them much. How is your life going? I hope that it is good like mine.

Your friend, Alex.
