Let R be a ring with identity and let S be a subring of R containing the identity. Prove that if m is a unit in S then u is a un

it in R. Show by example that the converse is false.

Explanation:

Since m is a unit in S, then, there exists b ∈ S such that m*b = 1, where 1 is the identity. Since S is a subring of R we have that m ∈ R, and therefore b is also the multiplicative inverse of m in R. The converse isnt true.

The set of real numbers is a Ring with the standard sum and multiplication. Every real number different from 0 has a multiplicative inverse. For example, the inverse of 2 is 1/2. However, 2 is not a unit on the subring of Integers Z.

The ratio of the angles in a triangle is 5:9:10. what is the measure of the largest angle?
Maksim231197 [3]

The measure of the largest angle is 75 degrees.

What is a triangle?

A triangle is a polygon with three sides and vertices. The sum of angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. Types of triangles include: right-angled triangle, isosceles triangle, equilateral triangle and scalene triangle.

What is the measure of the largest angle?

The measure of the largest angle = (largest ratio / sum of ratios) x 180

10 / 24 x 180 = 75 degrees

There are only blue ,yellow cubes and green cubes in a bag there are 5 times as many blue cubes as yellow cubes and there are 5
Molodets [167]

Answer:

1 / 31

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Yellow (y) ; Blue (b) ; Green (g)

b = 5y

g = 5b

Assume :

Number of yellow cube = 1

y = 1

b = 5

g = 5*5 = 25

Probability = (required outcome / number of total possible outcomes)

P( picking a yellow) = number of yellow / total number of cubes

Total number of balls = (1 + 5 + 25) = 31

P(picking a yellow) = 1 / 31
