The 26th Amendment has to do with the the age to vote & the military drafting age. During WW2, our president Franklin D. Roosevelt, had to lower the drafting age from 21 to 18, while the voting age use to be 21. The minimum age for voting also decreased, after these young adults expressed, that if they were old enough to go fight a war, then they should be able to vote. <span />

How do the major parties select their candidates for president of the United States

In primaries, party members vote in a state election for the candidate they want to represent them in the general election. After the primaries and caucuses, each major party, Democrat and Republican, holds a national convention to select a Presidential nominee.
