Frances Perkins registered at birth as Fannie Coralie Perkins, was a sociologist and US policy, who served as Secretary of Labor of the United States between 1933 and 1945, part of the cabinet of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She was the first woman to assume a position of ministerial rank in the USA.
