WILL MARK AS BRAINLEST!!!
taurus [48]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

although i have not read the article, i can conclude from the keywords (grave & egyptian), that the answer is probably D.

the backstory behind my reasoning is that it's called a Grave Matter. that eliminates the possibility of answer 'A'. also, i believe we can eliminate C, because the name of the article makes me think otherwise. B is probably a contestant, but my choice (if i haven't read the article) would be D. please let me know if this works or not.

In this passage from Walden, what analogy is Thoreau using?
zloy xaker [14]

Henry David Thoreau was an American essayist, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian, two of his greatest works are: "Resistance to Civil Government" (also known as "Civil Disobedience") and "The Mask of Anarchy". His ideals can be summarized by this statement: “the Government should not have more power than the bestowed by its citizens”.

Henry David Thoreau was even imprisoned for refusing to pay taxes in protest for the Mexican-American War and the slavery.

In this passage from Walden, Thoreau the analogy is:

He is comparing life to a moving train

Here we have the evidence to support the analogy:

Let us spend one day as deliberately as Nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito's wing that falls on the rails.

What is the summary of the myth the fates?
lbvjy [14]

the Moirai or Fates were three sister deities, incarnations of destiny and life. Their names were Clotho, the one who spins the thread of life; Lachesis, she who draws the lots and determines how long one lives, by measuring the thread of life; and Atropos, the inevitable, she who chose how someone dies by cutting the thread of life with her shears. They were often described as being ugly and old women, stern and severe. Three days after a child was born, it was thought that the Moirai would visit the house to determine the child's fate and life.

It seems that the Moirai controlled the fates of both mortals and gods alike. It may be that Zeus was the only one not bound by them, as an epithet that was used for him was Moiragetes (he who commands the fate). Other sources suggest, though, that he was also bound by the Moirai.
