Read this passage from The Autobiography by Benjamin Franklin. Which most closely represents Franklin’s efforts to be more humbl

e?
I cannot boast of much Success in acquiring the reality of this Virtue; but I had a good deal with regard to the appearance of it.—I made it a rule to forbear all direct contradiction to the sentiments of others, and all positive assertion of my own. I even forbid myself agreeable to the old laws of our junto, the use of every word or expression in the language that imported a fixed opinion; such as “certainly,” “undoubtedly,” etc., and I adopted instead of them, “I conceive,” “ I apprehend,” or “I imagine a thing to be so or so,’ or “it so appears to me at present.”—When another asserted something that I thought an error, I denied myself the pleasure of contradicting him abruptly, and of showing immediately some absurdity in his proposition; and in answering I began by observing that in certain cases or circumstances his opinion would be right, but that in the present case there appeared or seemed to me some difference, etc.

A.He began using opinionated words.

B.He adopted a more tolerant attitude in speaking with others.

C.He became more accepting of the absurd positions of others.

D.He stopped contradicting what other people thought.

Answer:

D.He stopped contradicting what other people thought.

Explanation:

He says it himself right here: <em>"I made it a rule to forbear all direct contradiction to the sentiments of others". </em>Instead of contradicting immediately what other people think, he decided to listen to them and sometimes, he'd see that those people could actually be right:<em> "I began by observing that in certain cases or circumstances his opinion would be right"</em>.

Hello!

If I understood this correctly, the answer is \boxed{ \bf D.~He~stopped~contradicting~what~other~people~thought.}

\bf Explanation:

"I made it a rule to forbear all direct \sm contradiction to the sentiments of others"

He refrained from directly contradicting other people's opinions.

"When another asserted something that I thought an error, I denied myself the pleasure of contradicting him abruptly, and of showing immediately some absurdity in his proposition;"

Although he wanted to contradict the man, he refrained from doing so. At least, not abruptly.

musickatia [10]

Answer:

In 2019 college student debt grew larger than credit card debt.

Explanation:

To complete this exercise, you have to select the best example of a <u>proposition of fact.</u>

The correct answer is <em>"In 2019 college student debt grew larger than credit card debt"</em> because it is the only one that can be supported by evidence and when you make a proposition of fact you focus on getting your audience to believe what you are saying as being true or false. If you give evidence, it is easier for them to believe you.

The other propositions are proposition of policy and proposition of value.

Answer:

You should/shouldn't sit with them. It varies. Also, find better friends. Your school has dozens of kids. There has to be the right person out there!

Explanation:

If they are being mean and not letting you in on things/pretending you don't exist, that is a form of bullying. That happened to me - its <em>NOT </em>okay. You should not be sitting with them at all, why should you be sitting with bullies? Find a new group of friends, ones that will care for you and make sure you feel good all day, every day.

If they feel like you leave them out on things, sit with them! Try to make light conversation. If one opens up, start talking to them. Then others will join in if they have anything to say. If all of you guys in this "group" sit together except for you, they shouldn't even care. If you want to sit with others, its your choice. They have each other-they should be fine.

The food. What your doing with your treats is amazing - you must be a wonderful person. But giving them treats will only make them want you <u>FOR </u>your <u>TREATS</u>, not for YOU. You should stop giving treats. If they ask why you didn't bring more food (which is rude, by the way!) you should tell them that a. I didn't feel like making more, or b. why does it matter? If they want to be your friend, they want to be your friend.

You are not alone, and you are not a burden. You will <em>NEVER BE</em> a burden. I want you to know that. I felt that way before. You are amazing, inspirational, and kind. What is happening to you is wrong, and shouldn't be happening in the first place. I say, screw it. Find a better group of friends, or talk to your parents about switching schools. That's what I did.

Have an amazing day! Please <u>mark brainliest </u>(if you want. No pressure or anything). Luv ya!
