It is hard for scientists to know how many West Indian manatees there are. They estimate between 2,000 to 5,000. The West Indian

manatee has been listed as an endangered species. This means that the population is so low that the West Indian manatee is in danger of becoming extinct. Many die because of accidents with ships or other human causes, such as pollution. Federal and state laws protect the manatee. Scientists are working to find ways to help the manatee survive.

If you were to create a modern-day epic hero, what profession would you use to base him/her?
pshichka [43]

Answer:

I would base it off of a cop or detective because they are based on a modern day hero of sorts.

Explanation:

Cops have gear to use and have the knowledge to apprehend a "bad guy." The detectives are kind of like the people who direct the hero when they need to find a "bad guy."

Graph the system of equations below and find the solution y=2x y= -x+6
cupoosta [38]

Answer:

x=2

Explanation:

You plug in Y, which is 2x, into Y=-x+6

so it would be:

2x= -x+6.

You add x to 2x and x, and it leaves you with 3x=6.

You divide both sides by 3 & you get x=2.

Read the excerpts from Ovid’s "Pyramus and Thisbe" and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. "Pyramus and Thisbe"
agasfer [191]

Answer:

a. Both works show a marriage denied; only Shakespeare offers background.

Explanation:

Ovid's " Pyramus and Thisbe" and William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" both tells the story of two star crossed lovers who had to have a fatal ending due to their complicated love stories. While both stories seem to have the exact same play and theme and tone, one thing that is evidently missing from the excerpts provided in the question is that while Shakespeare provides the background of the story, telling the history of the families of two characters Romeo and Juliet, Ovid's excerpt ,misses this detail. Both shows a marriage denied, only Shakespeare offers the background for why the union was refused.
