The folktale teaches its readers two important lessons of life which is misery and death. It explains something about life.

Explanation:

The above mentioned lines are a part of the tale 'Aunty Misery' written by Fidelia Lare. The tale talks about how altering one's fate can bring negative impacts. If so happens that La Tia Miseria was blamed for people's troubles, and that was when the old woman made a deal with her prisoner that she will give him his freedom if he promise not to show up again ever.

He agreed and thus the concluding line goes like this 'And that is why there are two things you can always count on running into in this world: Misery and Death.' This states that no matter what, death and misery, are the things which no person in this world can run away from. At some point in their life, people are bound to be in a state of unhappiness, and death is the ultimate truth.
