It's not E. These are essay questions, because all except E are justifiable. The rhythm is the same as the first two line. A is a good answer in my mind. It's not C either. Great Poetry never uses so much as 1 word it does not need. I suppose by my thinking, it should be D. There is conflict in him. Promises vs. The invitation of the dark deep lovely woods. D is your best alternate.

B is right. The only thing you could add would be to say that the responsibilities have been met, but there is sadness in having to meet them.
