Nady [450]

Answer: Street Lamp

Explanation:

In the book, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, Jody and Janie Starks arrive at a very small Florida town known as Eatonville which consisted of only 50 acres of land. He buys more land for the town which increases its size.

Not stopping there, Jody decided to buy a Street Lamp for the town out of his own pocket which became an immense source of pride for the town.

He then threw a big ceremony for the lamp and invited people to celebrate in a hugely successful party.

Dependent clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a predicate. Although this contains a subject and a predicate, the thought is not complete and can not stand on its own. For example, "since he did not pay the rent". In this instance, the clause has a subject and a verb but shows no thought or meaning.
An independent clause is a group of words comprised of a subject and a predicate and expresses a thought thus, called independent. For instance, "I arrived early", "She sings."
