<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

  • Tells of their greatness.

Dante summons the Muses, the old goddesses of workmanship and verse, and solicits them to enable him to tell from his encounters.

Excited to meet the artist that he most appreciates, Dante informs Virgil concerning the mammoths that hindered his way. Virgil answers that the she-wolf kills all who approach her however that, sometime in the future, an eminent dog will come to pursue the she-wolf back to Hell, where she started. He includes that the she-wolf's essence requires the utilization of an alternate way to rise the slope; he offers to fill in as Dante's guide. He cautions Dante, nonetheless, that before they can climb the slope they should initially go through the spot of interminable discipline (Hell) and after that a position of lesser discipline (Purgatory); at exactly that point would they be able to achieve God's city (Heaven). Supported by Virgil's affirmations, Dante puts forward with his guide.
