Acacia trees pass on an ‘alarm signal’ to other trees when antelope browse on their leaves. It is said that acacias nibbled by antelope produce leaf tannin in quantities lethal to the browsers, and emit ethylene into the air which can travel up to 50 yards. The ethylene warns other trees of the impending danger, which then step up their own production of leaf tannin within just five to ten minutes.
I hope this helps. =^P

dezoksy [38]
The types of skeleton depend on where they are located. Earthworms have hydroskeleton because their rigid bodies are based on water pressure so it's hydro then. Endo is found in animals like birds and also humans who have it inside. Exo is found in spiders because they are bugs and bugs have their skeletons like a shell that covers them.

This represents what type of succession?
NeX [460]

B

Secondary succession means the regrowth in an ecosystem that already existed, after a disaster such as floods, fire, and etcetera. This is as opposed to primary succession whereby a new ecosystem is developed where none existed initially, usually on a new substrate.

Explanation:

In the picture on the left looks like a picture of a forest decimated by fire. On the right is a picture of the grass growing on the forest floor. This probably due to the fact that the canopy of the forest was destroyed in the fire enabling sunlight to penetrate to the floe of the forest supporting vegetation growth. This secondary succession. The grass acts like pioneer species. Later, the forest floor will be colonized by perennial, and then woody plants and the ecosystem will be back to its normal state.
