The excerpt from Lord Byron's "She Walks in Beauty" that most directly describes its subject as a part of all nature is the following one:
“…like the night/Of cloudless climes, and starry skies…”
This is the only excerpt that even remotely mentions nature, let alone compare the woman to the night, and cloudless climes, and starry skies. You can see that she is inseparable from nature, because nature is beauty and love, the same way she is.

Can somebody be both religious and spiritual? essay

Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Yes, I believe it’s possible. However in my opinion sometimes religion might put certain limits on Spirituality.

I’ve never understood the idea of “punishment” and “loathing” that certain religions put on their believers. In my point of view everything that sparks fear and operates through fear, lack of acceptance, love and understanding can not be Spiritual in nature. I‘ve noticed that some religions are concentrated more on dividing people and human kind instead of bringing them together with peace, acceptance and love. Sometimes being religious can make people judgmental of others, discriminating and fanatical and by that stray them away from unity, peace, love and respect. I’m not condemning anyone since we all have the freedom to choose what to believe in and how to live our lives. I’ve met people who practice various religions and I’ve always been respectful and accepting towards them. However I‘ve noticed that not everyone of them were respectful and accepting towards me and my Spiritual outlook. My belief in freedom and human abilities made some of them react with fear and rejection even judgment. That left me thinking about fear based religious beliefs and the absence of love and respect in them. Some people fear their own abilities and freedom, the idea of expanding their consciousness and exploring the vastness of their inner world and the outside world.

If being religious brings love of oneself and others, peace and understanding towards yourself and others (no matter of religious background, ethnicity, gender, skin color, language etc) and makes one aware, present and respectful, I believe the answer to your question would be „YES“.

If its quite the opposite- I would cling more towards „No“.

It really depends on one’s perspective of religion and Spirituality.

P.S This answer is not meant to trigger and/or condemn anyone. Stay blessed on the path you’ve chosen, everyone! Much love!
