Answer:

The distance drive by Lana = 201 miles

The distance drive by Mark = 216 miles

The distance drive by Tony = 67 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total distance cover by Lana , Tony , Mark = 484   miles

Let The distance drove by Lana = L   miles

The distance drove by Tony = T

The distance cover by Mark = M

So ,  L + T + M = 484 miles

Now, The distance of Tony = \frac{1}{3} of Lana distance

Or,   T = \frac{1}{3} × L

And The distance of Mark = 15 + The distance of Lana

Or,   M = 15 + L

Now.

   L + \frac{1}{3} × L + 15 + L = 484

Or, 2 L + \frac{L}{3} = 484 - 15

Or,  2 L + \frac{L}{3} = 469

Or,  \frac{7 L}{3} = 469

Or,  7 L = 469 × 3

∴     L =  \frac{1407}{7}

I.e   L = 201

The distance drive by Lana = 201 miles

The distance drive by Mark = 15 + L =15 + 201 = 216 miles

The distance drive by Tony =  \frac{1}{3} × 201 = 67 miles

Hence The distance drive by each person is

The distance drive by Lana = 201 miles

The distance drive by Mark = 216 miles

The distance drive by Tony = 67 miles    Answer

You have separated the figure into three (3) parts. There are two squares (or rectangles on the bottom. Subtract 5 from 8 to find out the length of the side (right side). 8-5=3. Then subtract 3 from 8 (8-3=5). The new length is 5 ft. 5 multiplied by 5 is the area of one of the squares on the bottom (25 ft. squared). Multiply that by two to find the area of both the squares on the bottom (50 ft. squared).

There's also a rectangle on the top. The base is 15 ft. and the height is 3 ft. Remember that you subtracted 5 from 8 to find out the area of the two bottom squares. 15 multiplied by 3 is 45 (ft.)

Add 45 to 50 to get the area of the entire figure. (45+50=95 or 95 ft. squared).

95 ft. squared is the area of the entire figure. Hope this helped you.
