3y+x=4

2y-x=6

Solve x+3y=4 for x

Add -3y to both sides

x+3y-3y=4-3y

x=-3y+4

Substitute -3y+4 for x in -x+2y=6

-x+2y=6

-(-3y+4)+2y=6

Simplify both sides of the equation

5y-4=6

Add 4 to both sides

5y-4+4=6+4

5y=10

Divide both sides by 5

5y/5=10/5

y=2

Substitute 2 for y in x=-3y+4

x=-3y+4

x=(-3)(2)+4

x= -6+4

x= -2

Answer : x=-2 and y=2

The answer is A

 it is (-2,2) and lies on both lines

I hope that's help  !

If a recipe calls for 0.800 kg of flour , about how many ounces of flour does it need? (1lb=16 oz, 1 lb = 0.454 kg )
stiks02 [169]
For this case we must take into account the following conversions of units:
 1lb = 16 oz
 1 lb = 0.454 kg
 Applying the conversion of units we have:
 (0.800) * (1 / 0.454) * (16/1) = 28.1938326
 Rounding off we have:
 28.2 oz
 Answer:

it needs 28.2 oz of flour

How is multiplication using partial products different from multiplication using regrouping?
klio [65]
Partial products is breaking down every number in multiplication and adding them. Regrouping is grouping number them adding them.They are alike because they both involve breaking down the numbers and adding them.  They are different because one is taking all the numbers broken down, while the other is just a couple of the number.

Calculate the gradient of the line using rise/run method.
Lapatulllka [165]

Given:

The graph of line.

To find:

The gradient of the line using rise/run method.

Solution:

We know that the gradient of a line is also known as slope.

Slope=\dfrac{Rise}{Run}

Consider the two intercepts, then rise is distance between origin and y-intercept and run is the distance between origin and the x-intercept. But rise must be negative because the value of y decreased from 3 to 0.

Rise=-3

Run=2

Now,

Slope=\dfrac{Rise}{Run}

Slope=\dfrac{-3}{2}

The gradient of the line is -\dfrac{3}{2}.

Therefore, the correct option is C.
