Tango, in the present form, originated in mid 19th century in southern American countries being played by immigrants. It became the music of choice in brothels with dance moves that demonstrated male sexuality.
Tangos have been written by classical composers such as the 1914 composition of Erik Satie in Le Tango perpetuel and in 1918 by Igor Stravinsky in Histoire du Soldat
Tango is traditionally played in a solo guitar, guitar duo, or orquesta tipica.
