44. In her essay "Writing Short Stories" Flannery O'Connor says this about characterization:
HACTEHA [7]
This could be answered if you have presented what Semester A is. As the question says,

<span><span>"Consider the quotations above. Then pick a story from Semester A and evaluate how the social context and the characters work together not only to provide a vivid setting, but also to help explain and develop the characters' thoughts, words, and actions."

</span>Probably, the answer that you can get is that, based from the quotations, it talks about the society, as an individual and as a community. You cannot understand personality not unless you are and in that personality.</span>

Analyze Explain Mario Cuomo’s conundrum.
Annette [7]

This question is about "A Quilt of a Country"

Answer and Explanation:

Mario Cuomo's enigma was exposed to show how the USA imposes the concept of individualism on its growing population and encourages the adoption of this concept in all possible activities, however, in addition to being a defining concept of the American population, it is also a concept that is in constant conflict, thus creating a "social paradox", so to speak, because the nation that grew in an individualistic way, sees itself in various situations where it needs to work in the collectivity and in solidarity.

Within the text, Quindlen uses this concept of conflict between the collective and individualism as support for the argument that the USA is a multicultural nation, full of the most different ethnicities, but all this difference does not prevent the country made up of a single people that is subject to a single government.

Which passage is the best example of deductive reasoning?
worty [1.4K]
B is the correct answer. In deductive reasoning, you start with a general statement and end with a conclusion. Kind of like A = B, B = C, therefore A = C. Another example is: All organisms are made of cells. Humans are organisms. Therefore, humans are made of cells.

Compare and contrast the Anglo-Saxon culture and values to today’s culture and values.
yan [13]

Answer:

Let us examine the cultural values of the Anglo-Saxons, especially as we can glean them from the epic poem, "Beowulf."

The Anglo-Saxons were then known for their bravery, truthfulness, honor, loyalty/fidelity, discipline and duty, hospital/friendship, perseverance, and industriousness.  The question is, are these cultural values still prevalent today, even among those who claim to be Anglo-Saxons.  The answer is NO.

Today, the cultural values that are prevalent among the Anglo-Saxons are abortion, intrigue, discrimination, infidelity, and profiteering, among others.  The Anglo-Saxons have abandoned truth for shadows.  They marry today and break up their marital vows tomorrow, and remarry unashamedly.  The Anglo-Saxons are now killers of the unborn and defenseless child, without any qualms of conscience.  They even excuse this brutal and inconsiderate murder as the woman's right to freedom.  They have invented condoms without using them.  That is why abortions are still rampant.  The worst is that they want to foist these cultural aberrations on others, willingly and unwillingly.

I think that the majority of Anglo-Saxons today have become self-lovers.  This is why there is high-level hatred, inhospitality towards migrants, and unfriendliness towards others.  Anglo-Saxons are now very dishonorable.  They cannot risk their lives for their neighbors, as Beowulf did.  I can go on and on.

Explanation:

The epic poem titled "Beowulf" offers the best means to learn about the culture and values of the Anglo-Saxons in the past.  This epic poem chronicled the sacrifices made by Beowulf, who travelled from afar to save the lives of the Geats.

Variously, culture has been defined as "a people's way of life."  The guiding principles embedded or practiced in any cultural situation are the cultural values.
