Two main equations: slope = change in y divided by change in x & y-y initial= slope (x- x initial)
change in y= 9-3 = 6        change in x = 4-2 = 2
your initial points are (2,3)
slope is the rate of change.
once you have it, just plug it into the second equation. You'll get your equation and your y-intercept

The straight line is given by the equation
y=kx+b
We substitute coordinates of points
3=2k+b (1)
9=4k+b (2)
We give a system of equations
Solution of this system
(1) 2k=3-b
k=(3-b)/2
(2) 9=2(3-b)+b
9=6-b
b=-3
k=3
Answer: y=3x-3

If three points (5,1) , (1,-1) and (m,4) are collinear.Find m
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

m = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the points are collinear then the slope between points are equal.

Calculate the slope m using the slope formula

m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (5, 1) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (1, - 1)

m = \frac{-1-1}{1-5} = \frac{-2}{-4} = \frac{1}{2}

Repeat with

(x₁, y₁ ) = (1, - 1) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (m, 4)

m = \frac{4+1}{m-1} = \frac{5}{m-1} = \frac{1}{2}

Cross- multiply

m - 1 = 10 ( add 1 to both sides )

m = 11

What is the volume of the oblique cube
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

\large\boxed{V=\dfrac{1600\pi}{3}\ cm^3}

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of a volume of a cone:

V=\dfrac{1}{3}\pi r^2H

r - radius

H - height

We have r = 10cm and H = 16cm. Substitute:

V=\dfrac{1}{3}\pi(10^2)(16)=\dfrac{1}{3}\pi(100)(16)=\dfrac{1600\pi}{3}\ cm^3
