The United Nations Security Council is an important organ of the UN. It is the organ that makes important decisions regarding international peace and security.
It consists of 15 members out of which 5 are permanent members namely China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States. The remaining 10 members are the non-permanent members and are elected for two years term by the General Assembly.
