We can employ some logic to reduce the answers we need to test. We know that the slope perpendicular to line l has to have a negative reciprocal slope, so a slope of-\frac{9}{8}. We see that in A and C, as x increases so does y. That means the slope of these equations are positive, which we don't want. Now for some algebra:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} \implies\\ B. \frac{6+2}{-6-9}=\frac{8}{-15} \\ D. \frac{3+5}{-6-3}=-\frac{8}{9}

We se that D has the correct slope so that must be the answer.

m =( Y2 - Y1)/ (X2-X1)

m =( 3-(-5))/ (-6-3)

m = - 8/9

I am assuming you meant a slope of 9/8 in your original question, so the points perpendicular to I are answer D.

Perpendicular means the slope is opposite reciprocal.

Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

Account A

Explanation:

Since Irma has $500 to open a checking account and She wants an account with the lowest fees.

She plans to use only her bank’s ATM to deposit her paychecks and withdraw cash.

The Bank Account Terms and Conditions that would be best for Irma is Account A.

Account A will be sufficient as there is no indication for writing of checks and issuing checks  to clients as a form of payment, including the fact that the amount Irma has to open the account is just a base amount of $500
