How does stress affect your musculoskeletal system

Biology

Answer:

Stress causes tension in muscles that are very painful. This is how stress affects the musculoskeletal system.

Explanation:

Stress affects the musculoskeletal system causing muscle tension. Muscles can be so tight that they lead to a painful frame of muscle spasm. The back and neck muscles are particularly more sensitive to the effects of stress.

The slightest muscle strain can be the "drop of water" in a stressed person. For example, if the spinal nerves are restricted by scar tissue or calcium deposits, they can lead to minimal muscle tension that compresses the nerves and causes pain. Another example is sciatica, which can become much greater when the person feels stressed.

When the body is stressed, muscles tense up. Muscle tension is almost a reflex reaction to stress — the body's way of guarding against injury and pain. With sudden onset stress, the muscles tense up all at once, and then release their tension when the stress passes.

Homologous chromosomes line up in the center of the cell
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

Metaphase I

Explanation:

Homologous chromosomes are paired to facilitate crossing over during prophase I of the meiosis I. This is followed by alignment of homologous chromosomes at the equator of the cell during metaphase I. The process is assisted by microtubules of spindle apparatus. The kinetochore microtubules of the spindle apparatus attach themselves to the kinetochores of chromosomes.

The two sister kinetochores of duplicated homologous chromosomes are attached to the opposite pole to align the homologous pair at the center of the cells. Metaphase I is followed by anaphase I during which homologous chromosomes move towards the opposite poles.

Which statement describes the reaction for cellular respiration?
mixer [17]

The equation is glucose + oxygen carbon dioxide + water and energy is produced in the form of ATP.

Explanation:

Cellular respiration is a metabolic process in which glucose combines with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water with energy stored as ATP.

Glucose + Oxygen gas → Carbon dioxide + Water + energy in ATP

ATP is Adenosine TriPhosphate.

In the body, during cellular respiration, oxygen gas is inhaled and carried to sites in the body where food in form of glucose obtained from plant is broken down.

When food is broken down aerobically i.e in the presence of oxygen gas, carbon dioxide and water is produced and energy is stored in form of ATP.
