Right after he states that he is flesh and that his reflection is cloudy, which means that the narrator sees himself weak in front of his thoughts, at that moment he realizes that he cannot control his emotions, but that he is easily controlled by them.

When the author states that he is stone and flesh at the same time, he shows that he lives in a struggle with himself, one hour he can control his emotions, but he is also controlled by them.
