The city of Jerusalem has been the central point and focus of importance for not only the Jews, but also for the Christians and even the Muslims. It is the holy city of these three religious groups, playing a significant role even from its ancient ages.

For the Christians, it has been the central city especially in the New Testament, where Jesus Christ was brought as a child and where he was seen among the temple leaders. He also preached here along with numerous other places.

For Jews, it is important for it is the city where the Israelite king David and his successor Solomon founded the temple after a promise from God. And it has remained the holiest city even to this day.

And for the religion of Islam, this city has also been it's prominent place since it is here that the Prophet Muhammad visited, thus making it auspicious. The Quran also mentioned that it is here that God spoke to the prophet, thus cementing its importance.

Thus, it is wrong to say that Jerusalem is important only for the Jewish faith.
