The articles of conferderation was the first US constitution agreed upon between the thirteen first states.

Explanation:

After deafting Britian in the American Revolution, the original 13 colonies, now states, agreed to this constiution. However it did not last very long, only 8 years. It did not work because they did not give the federal government enough power. Since they were scared of being ruled by another king they tried to give the states most of the power, but this did not work. After altering it so the federal government as more power, but the states still have some, we have the consitution we know today.
