The difference between a linear regression and a correlation is largely philosophical. Linear regression implies a causal relati

onship, while correlation does not. Which of the following examples are best described as a correlation?A. The global mean temperature has gone up while the global pirate population has gone down.B. The roots of trees play a major role in preventing soil erosion. The more trees are cut down in a particular area, the greater the rate of erosion.C. The growth of trees is supported by environments with increased carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere. More carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as a result of fossil fuel burning has resulted in increased tree growth.D. When nitraie reacts with N-(1-Naphthyl)ethylenediamine a purple pigment is produced. The amount of purple pigment produced increases with increasing nitrite concentration.

Answer:

A. The global mean temperature has gone up while the global pirate population has gone down.

Step-by-step explanation:

These two variables, the global mean temperature and the global pirate population, do not cause a change in the other.  A decrease in the number of pirates, while it may coincide with an increase in the global temperature, is not caused by the change in temperature.

Similarly, an increase in the global temperature, while it may coincide with a decrease in the number of pirates, is not caused by having fewer pirates.

vlada-n [284]

Step-by-step explanation:

6/9 divide top and bottom by 3 to get 2/3

Now reduce each of the fractions to the lowest terms, and look for one that gives 2/3.

12/8 = 3/2  (divide by 4 top and bottom)

8/12 = 2/3  (divide by 4 top and bottom)  This is a solution

10/12 = 5/6 (divide by 2 top and bottom)

8/13 (cannot be reduced)

Therefore the second fraction (8/12) forms a proportion with 6/9.

Hey there!

In order to answer this question, it's easiest to start with one of the money amounts and work your way to the other ones. Keep in mind that, no matter what, the amount of collective money won't exceed 1.50, meaning you can't have two 1 dollar bills, etc. When I wrote it out, I did it in this order:

1 = 1 dollar
0.5 = Half dollar
0.25 = Quarter

1 + 0.5 = 1.50
1 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 1.50
0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 1.50
0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 1.50
0.5 + (0.25*4) = 1.50
0.25*6 = 1.50

Since no other combinations add up to 1.50, your answer is 6.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

Answer:

1728

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 12 numbers that can be used for the first number; 12 for the second number; and 12 for the third number.  This means there are a total of

12(12)(12) = 1728 combinations.
