What was the purpose of the montgomery bus boycott

It all started when Rosa Parks got on a bus. A white man stepped on the bus. The bus driver told Rosa Parks to give up her seat yo the white man.
Rosa thought that colors did not matter. She refused to move. The bus driver had Rosa Parks arrested. That's when all the African Americans stopped taking Montgomery buses.
And that's how the Montgomery bus boycott was started. Hope this helps : )
