Meta warwick fuller was a black female artist who dedicated in sculpture and her profession drawn throughout america gilded age a time when more women were skilled as artists than ever before she joined the pennsylvania museum school of industrial arts in 1897 before traveling abroad to study in paris france in 1899. Meta warwick fuller studied at the académie colarossi for sculpture and la ecole des beaux arts for drawing. It was throughout this time that she encountered auguste rodin who cheered her to endure the sculptural pragmatism that she loved in which the guidance invigorated her art and she exhibited at samuel bing’s l’art nouveau gallery in paris in 1900.
