Portugal and Spain were the first countries to start searching for a sea route to India. On May 20, 1498, the Portuguese ships commanded by Vasco da Gamah, sent by King Manoe-Lem, reached the shores of India. With the discovery of the sea route to India, Portugal gained priority in the European market and began to master the entire maritime trade of South and East Asia. Explanation:
the ijaradari sysytem was introduced by Warren Hastings under British India(British Colonisation) in 1773. Here the bidders bid for lands which were state owned and the highest bidders were auctioned the right to collect revenues from those lands while paying taxes to the state. the bidders were called contractors and were given this right for 5 years intially which was later made annually in 1777. The system failed mostly because bidding was not related to land productivity and many Zamindars were unable to remit revenue to the companies.
