This excerpt describes a thought-provoking walk at night. The author tells us that it is midnight, and he is out. He is walking down the street, while the moon is shining. Moreover, we know that he is lost in thought, as he tells us that every street-lamp that he passes implies something fatal, and that the night shakes his memory. He is moved to get lost in thought due to the midnight walk.

Which pair of lines in William Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 uses slant rhyme?
gregori [183]

Answer:

B and D

Explanation:

Lines A and C use perfect rhyme (minds - finds), and so do lines E and F (cheeks - weeks).

The rhyme in the pair of lines B, D is formed by words with similar but not identical sounds. In the words love and remove, the final consonants are identical but the vowels sound different. That is why this type of rhyme is called slant thyme, or half rhyme.

Explain Antony`s motive for delivering this speech to the conspirators.
igor_vitrenko [27]

Antony's speech is a turning point for the conspirators. Caesar has been murdered, and the conspirators have explained the situation. Although Antony does not openly disagree with them, we see that he believes the act was wrong when he adresses the crowd. Brutus has already talked to the people, and he argued that Caesar was killed out of love for Rome. Antony, however, turns the crowd against them. He reminds the people of everything that Caesar did for Rome. By carefully presenting his arguments, he succeeds in turning the crowd against the conspirators.
