Answer:

The correct answer for this excercise: A gay man joins a dating website. He tells his friends that he is frustrated when other men on the website describe themselves as "straight-acting, straight-appearing." He believes that these men are treating gay identity as a stigmatized identity by. Is: "Passing"

Explanation:

To understand this answer we have to remember its meaning applied in sociology. Passing in sociology is a concept that expresses how naturally pretend to be, believe or have something meaningful to their context. In other words, people lie to be accepted and they see this as an ultimate attempt to pass from one group or community to another. In this case, the gay online community adopted this position by being discriminated in circles where homosexuality is punished. They have accepted this posture by imposition and accepting its ok when it's not.

What does scout's observation that she "inched sluggishly along the treadmill of the maycomb county school system" suggest about
morpeh [17]
Scout is a very advanced student and for that instead of being rewarded and given additional attention and assignments that would further her development she is instead reprimanded for it. Her teacher Miss Caroline is limiting what students can know and come into contact with. She even wanted her to stop reading with her father so she could do that only at school. Scout feels extremely bored and feels like she is missing a lot she could be learning about the world. She is being cheated out of knowledge which is ironic as school should be one of the places that can give children a lot of information and knowledge.

1.1.3. Give your own position on this specific Gender Based Violence problem in our country.
Anton [14]

The problem of gender violence creates the situation of discrimination in the country, and the society becomes an unlikely place to be lived in.

What is gender discrimination?

Gender discrimination refers to the biased behavior against a person based upon the gender of such person. Gender discrimination disturbs the harmony of the society and also violates the constitutional rights.

Women are particularly more discriminated in the United States than men owing to their gender, and the undue influence of male dominance in the society.

As gender discrimination violates the constitutional rights of the society, it would be advisable to impose strict restrictions and punishments in the society for the promotion of equality in the society.

Hence, it would be advisable to bring strict impositions of fines and penalties over the issues like gender discrimination in the society.

What are a few of the positive things the Equal Rights Amendment would have done for women in America?
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

Employment, property and family law.

Explanation:

The ERA has to be considered in its historical context. It was first proposed in 1923, at a time where women had little or no rights regarding work and payment and faced discrimination. The ERA proposed a total abolition of law discrimination based on sex, which would have been revolutionary at the time. Later, during the 1960s and 1970s when the ERA was again discussed, some of the problems were solved with other laws, like the Equal Pay Act or the Civil Rights Acts. However, while these acts are a key part of American Legislation, the ERA is a Constitutional Amendment, which would give a completely new level of protection.

There is criticism, mainly because many of the laws and guarantees gained during the past 100 years have been tailored to protect women in their specificity. And many fear that the ERA would negatively override those protections. However, as an Amendment, any discrimination based on sex could be challenged based on unconstitutionality. And as of now, women still suffer discrimination and the acts and laws enacted so far are not sufficient.
