The correct answer is - B. West Germany would have grown much stronger than East Germany.

After the split of Germany into West and East Germany, the two parts had very different developments. While the western part was developing very quickly, became a market economy system, investing in technology and science, becoming a strong industrial country, the eastern part was under the rule of communism, where it struggled to do anything properly, with the economy constantly being on the verge of bankruptcy, and the people very often suffering because of lack of food even.

If the two didn't united, Western Germany was going to be much more advanced and stronger in any way than East Germany. While West Germany would have been one of the main forces in Europe in every sector, East Germany would have had the path of the other post-communist countries, with hard transition, change of the whole system, change of economy, slow development etc.

Why are eastern and Western Europe considered perceptual regions
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]
This is because both of these regions have specific subjective opinions about these areas which reflect their feelings and images.
What this means is that both West and East in Europe were influenced by particular political ideologies - West by democracy, whereas East was influenced by communism. Even today, Eastern and Western Europe are quite reflective of those ideologies.
