The correct answer is; negative punishment.

Further Explanation:

When the boy is acting out while his family is watching television he is sent to the room and not allowed to return and watch television until he can be good. Since he is unable to watch television and was punished for being bad, this is a negative punishment he received.

When the boy returned he was then good and changed his behavior and got to watch television since he was quiet and sat down. When someone receives a negative punishment this decreases the probability of the action being repeated when the stimulus is taken away.

Question 1 Use the map showing the location of the Panama Canal to answer the question. How did building this canal promote econ
jarptica [38.1K]

The correct answer is A) It improved trade between countries by making it easier to ship goods.

How did building this canal promote economic activity?

It improved trade between countries by making it easier to ship goods.

Located in Panama, in Central America, the Panama Canal is an impressive work of engineering opened in 1914, after a long history of ups and downs to get this massive construction finished.

It was the French engineers who started building the canal in 1880. But in 1902, the government of Theodore Roosevelt negotiated with the French and paid them $40 million for the canal. At that time, this territory belonged to Colombia, that is why the United States supported the independence of Panama. After this happened, the United States was granted the operation of the canal until 1999, when the US gave the canal back to the government of Panama.

Explain how the Spanish and Native Americans viewed each other and how this first impression affected their future relationship.
mina [271]

Answer:

The Spanish attitude toward the Indians was that they saw themselves as guardians of the Indians basic rights. The Spanish goal was for the peaceful submission of the Indians.First impressions are said to be lasting impressions, and indeed, it is remarkable how soon the New World "that was never before known to anyone" was viewed as a land of wealth, promise, and opportunity. So we begin with three of the earliest European explorers to North America (after the Norse whose settlements in Greenland died out in the 1300s) and the impressions conveyed to their monarchs, financiers, and soon, due to the printing press, the peoples of Europe:

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS (Cristoforo Colombo), an Italian sailing for Spain, who explored the Caribbean islands in four voyages from 1492 to 1504, and who insisted to the end that he had landed in or near Asia

[Columbus, Letter to Luis de Sant Angel, Treasurer of Aragon, 1493]

JOHN CABOT (Giovanni Caboto), an Italian sailing for England, who in 1497 explored the northeast coast of North America in the region of Newfoundland, and was certain he had reached northeast Asia

[Letter from Lorenzo Pasqualigo to his brothers, August 1497; Raimondo di Soncino to the Duke of Milan, first and second despatches, 1497]

GASPAR CORTE REAL, a Portuguese sailing for Portugal, who explored the same region as Cabot in 1500 and 1501, failing to find a northwest passage and losing his life in the search.

[Pietro Pasqualigo, Letter to his brothers, 1501]

All three expeditions were financed by European monarchs to find a westward route to Asia or, later, to find a route around the obtrusive land mass to reach Asia. All claimed land and future riches for their monarchs. All returned with artifacts of the new land, and two returned with captured Indians. For Columbus we have the explorer's first-hand reports, but for Cabot and Corte Real we rely on second-hand accounts, the only documentation that survives. The three maps reveal how the western hemisphere evolved visually in the European mind, reflecting fact and faith alike. Explore these documents for the Europeans' first impressions, and yours.  In 1947 Thor Heyerdahl sailed a simple raft from Peru to Polynesia, following the ocean currents for more than 6,000 kilometers. This statement accurately describes what Heyerdahl proved by this voyage. It would have been possible for people from ancient Peru to reach Polynesia by following ocean currents.

LenaWriter [7]

In Rwanda, a farmer is hiding a group of persecuted Tutsis from a Hutu military commander. The farmer believes that he has to always tell the truth, and that this is a categorical imperative. If the Hutu commander asks if he has any hidden Tutsis, and he tells the truth, who is to blame for the Tutsis’ capture according to Kantian theory?

A. The farmer, because saving lives is more important than respecting duty.

B. The Tutsis who are hiding because it was unethical of them to take advantage of the farmer

C. The Rwandans who started the war that led to these circumstances

D. Hutu commander, because only he is responsible for his own decisions

Answer:

D. Hutu commander, because only he is responsible for his own decisions

Explanation:

Kantian theory is a philosophical ethical theory which is propounded by Immanuel Kant, a German Philosopher, the theory is based on the belief that the only intrinsically good thing is a good will.

In other words, an action can only be good if its main and only reason behind it, is duty to the moral law, such as saying the truth always.

The main idea to Kant's ideal of the moral law is the categorical imperative, which works on all people, regardless of their interests or desires

Hence, in this case, the farmer is having obeyed the moral law, which is categorically imperative, then it is the Hutu's commander that is to be blamed for the capture of Tutis, because he his responsible for his own decision, whether to let them go free or not.
