Which word could best replace the underlined word as it is used in the paragraph? My little brother was jumping in the waves at

the ocean when a big wave crashed over him and knocked him under. He swallowed a lot of water. When I rushed in to pull him up, he was coughing so that he could belch the water out and breathe in some air. swallow taste force check

The word that can best replace the word "belch" would be force. The word would be force because he was trying to take out the water that he had swallowed.

-Swallow would not be correct because he does not want to swallow the water

-Taste and check are both words that would not make sense

In the future you can replace the words with the options to see which one sounds best and if you don't know what they mean you can always look them up :)

I'm not sure what the underlined word is. If the underlined word is "belch" it could be replaced with Burp.

ruslelena [56]

Answer:

D). by remembering hearing a similar story that happened elsewhere.

Explanation:

Text-to-world connection is characterized as the association which readers develop between the events that take place in the text and the events they have heard about in their own world through television, newspaper, magazine, radio, etc. In the given situation, Clarisa initiates a text-to-world connection by 'recalling hearing a similar story that happened elsewhere.' It would help her in a better understanding, experiencing a real-life connection that the author brings to the text, and evoke the intended feelings and response. Thus, option D is the correct answer.
