we are given

Event-A:

they are randomly handed either a blue, yellow, green, or red card

so, total number of cards =3

probability of selecting green cards = (number of green card)/(total number of cards)

probability of selecting green cards is \frac{1}{3}

Let's assume

p(A)=\frac{1}{3}

Event-B:

there are 8 boys and 12 girls in the class

total number of students =8+12=20

number of boys =8

probability of a boy = (number of boys)/(total number of students)

p(B)=\frac{8}{20}

Since, events A and B are independent

so,

probability that the student chosen by Mr. Jackson will be a boy with a green card = p(A)*p(B)

probability that the student chosen by Mr. Jackson will be a boy with a green card = \frac{8}{20} *\frac{1}{3}

=\frac{8}{20} *\frac{1}{3}

=\frac{2}{15}

probability that the student chosen by Mr. Jackson will be a boy with a green card is \frac{2}{15}...........Answer

Answer:

Denote AH as height of triangle ABC, with H lies on BC.

Applying sine theorem:

AH/AC = sin 60

=> AH = AC x sin 60 = 47 x sqrt(3)/2 = 40.7

=> Area of triangle ABC is calculated by:

A = AH x BC x (1/2) = 40.7 x 30 x (1/2) = 610.5 = ~611

=> Option C is correct.

Hope this helps!

Find the slope of the line on the graph.
Rasek [7]

The slope should be -1/2, because the line goes down 1 unit and then right 2 units.

Also it would be <u>y = -1/2x+1</u> in <u>y=mx+b</u>.

What is the probaility that a voter chooses a liberal in state B?

Let us see the total amount of voters in state B. This is equal to 35 according to the graph. Out of them, 20 voted for the liberal candidate. If we randomly pick a person in state B, chances are hence 20/35 that he votes for the liberal candidate. Probability is defined as the ratio of positive outcomes over all possible outcomes. Here, a positive outcome is voting for the liberal candidate and all outcomes are the voters of state B. 20/35 is equal to 5/7 or around 71%.
