I just answered this question. Here was my answer.

As I read the poem Stolen Rivers by Phillippa Yaa de Villiers, there are two tones and emotions I identify.

The first 9 lines of the poem speaks of vengeance. The speaker was filled with rage and thirst for revenge for the injustices done to them and their country.

The last 14 lines of the poem speaks of love and admiration. The speaker is filled with awe, love, and reverence towards Chiwoniso. An individual who makes the speaker let go of his or her anger as he or she watches and listens to Chiwoniso perform on stage.
