the 12th and 13th centuries, Japan developed into an aristocratic and
imperialist society. This is the time when Japan (called Edo before), had its
samurais. Samurais were related with middle and upper ranks of warriors trained
to become officers with unique techniques and strategies when it comes to
fighting (later known as bushido martial art). They were in service of their
clans or their lords. Zen Buddhism was also the religion of these trained
soldiers which furthered their work ethics and their principles of death and

Answer:
Tribal territories and the slave trade ranged over present-day borders. Some Native American tribes held war captives as slaves prior to and during European colonization. Some Native Americans were captured and sold by others into slavery to Europeans, while others were captured and sold by Europeans themselves. In the late 18th and 19th centuries, a small number of tribes adopted the practice of holding slaves as chattel property, holding increasing numbers of African-American slaves.
European influence greatly changed slavery used by Native Americans, as pre-contact forms of slavery were generally distinct from the form of chattel slavery developed by Europeans in North America during the colonial period. As they raided other tribes to capture slaves for sales to Europeans, they fell into destructive wars among themselves, and against Europeans.
Some of the Roman writers tried to rationalize the story of Atlas holding up the sky by equating Atlas to mountains — specifically, the Atlas Mountains. They accomplish this using Medusa’s head.
The gist of the tale is that Perseus passed near Atlas’ location — at the far west of the known world (i.e. continental Europe and Northern Africa) — after slaying Medusa and asked for lodging and protection for the night. Atlas was rude and demanded Perseus to leave, prompting Perseus to expose the Titan to Medusa’s head and turn him into the mountain range. At no point, at least in any source that I know of, did Atlas explicitly ask to be turned to stone.
Before the Civil War, the Free-Soil movement and the Republican Party embraced this idea for the American West: a territory reserved for small white farmers, unchallenged by the wealthy plantation owners who could buy up vast tracts of land and employ slave labor.
