The earth is tilted at an angle of 23.5° and is continuously rotating around a fixed internal imaginary axis. It rotates from the western to the eastern direction due to the gravitational pull between the sun and the earth, the moon and the earth.
Due to this rotation, the sun appears to rise in the east and it takes about 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds to complete one rotation, which is approximately considered as 24 hours. This led to the occurrence of day and night.
