During the 1920s, the US was in a very favorable economic situation. They were moments of expansion, of improvement in the conditions of life, a highly consumerist moment. This period is also treated as Roaring Twenties, when cultural effervescence was sustained by the economic bonanza in major US cities.

However, it all came down in 1929, in the crash of the New York Stock Exchange. There was a serious economic crisis that affected the lives of all Americans. This took people to the streets, to protest and to understand what was happening, as illustrated in the photo.
