Answer:

D) Granting former slaves suffrage

Explanation:

The Fifteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was one of the three amendments enacted after the American Civil War to ensure equality for black Americans, who had been harshly discriminated for decades.

This Amendment, ratified on 1870, was created primarily for the purpose of granting former slaves suffrage: It guarantees the right to vote of all U.S.'s male citizens (African Americans had already been considered citizens under the 14th Amendment), stating that this right will not be denied or abridged by the federal or the state government on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

I believe the answer is D as B and C are just completely false and while A could be possible its not the answer because granting voting rights to former slaves doesn't really punish the south but it does give former slaves suffrage. So its D

William McKinley won the election of 1896 because?
ehidna [41]

William won the election of 1896 by manipulating votes. He had given a free tax of 2$ to everyone who'd vote for him and made his way into victory through cheating. He was caught in 3 years after the voting and immediately thrown off the parliament.

A similar case like this happened around 1800s where the MNET company had manipulated charts and prevented popular musical groups such as "Red Velvet" from getting their 7th win.

Sherman’s march was between what 2 city’s?
zimovet [89]

Answer:

it stood between the Union Army and two of its most prized targets: the Gulf of Mexico to the west and Charleston to the East. It was also a symbol of Confederate pride and strength, and its fall made even the most loyal Southerners doubt that they could win the war
