The south said they were going to secede if Abe got elected president, this has to do with the Dred Scott case because the north was against slavery and this case said that slaves and free blacks were not citizens and they had no right to sue in the first place

which I think is wrong, anybody can sue. But hey whatever my opinion

In 1825, Simón Bolivar organized the Panama legislature in the attempt to unify the Latin American nations. Bolivar nearly decided against inviting the United States because that meeting could give it the opportunity to push its power upon Spanish America. Sure enough, Adams planned to take the meeting to make the common declaration of the Monroe Doctrine from other American countries and to develop trade treaties for the United States . Nevertheless, the United States did not accomplish to reach its goals at the meeting of Panama  .
