The abundance of birds and other predators of borer beetles depends on how much natural forest is left within and around the cof
NeX [460]
The graph below presents the number of borer beetles per hectare in relation to the size of the forest cover.
As we can see, the number of borer beetles increases with the percentage of forest cover. At 15% of the forest cover the number of beetles is around 4 per hectare and at 30% it would be around 11, showing a 275% increase in number.

How do birds deal with their eyes drying out at high speeds?
denis23 [38]
The bird's eye contains a nictitating membrane which is a translucent, semitransparent inner eyelid. It sweeps across the surface of the eye enabling the bird to blink without losing sight of or without blocking their view.

Birds also have two different tear glands. One type of tear gland is located along the lower eyelid while the other is located at the base of the nictitating membrane. The second tear gland lubricates the bird's eyes whenever the nictitating membrane blinks.

irina1246 [14]

Answer:

Based on this, you know that Sampson is using the whistle as a secondary reinforcer to train the dolphins.

Explanation:

Secondary Reinforcement can be described as a condition in which a stimulus initiates a behavior after being previously associated with a primary reinforcer. A secondary reinforcement is a stimulus that satisfies basic survival instinct such as food, drinks, and clothing.

The same phenomenon was being used by Samson to train his dolphins to perform tasks. The dolphins enjoyed the sound of the whistle because previously that sound was paired to them getting their food.

Alekssandra [29.7K]

The primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone. Without greenhouse gases, the average temperature of Earth's surface would be about −18 °C (0 °F), rather than the present average of 15 °C (59 °F).
