Machiavelli was very influenced by many events that occurred during the 14th to 16th century. Especially the Renaissance movement that was influencing arts, cultures, and values, placing men in the center of the political life, this thoughts influenced “Prince” heavily as a portrait of individualism.

1. Lee believed that he needed a victory in Northern soil in order for the Confederacy to survive.
2. On July 1, 1863, the Confederate won a tactical victory causing the Federal troops to take position on Cemetery Hill and Cemetery Ridge, just south of Gettysburg.
