Answer:

A Foster Son

Explanation:

A foster son is a male child who is raised as a son in a family which he is not related to by birth.

So, Adam was adopted into the Kent's family as "a foster son" and the parents of Kent are Adam's foster parents.

This scenario occurs when a child has no parents to take care of him. He ends up most time in a foster home or family.

Why might a member of the Cherokee Nation take issue with the use of the word “relocation” to describe the Trail of Tears?
olganol [36]

Answer:

They would take offense

Explanation:

The Trail of Tears was incredibly terrible. There was no excuse for Americans to do that other than greed. Imagine you and your family/ tribe all lived together peacfully and the only thing that you ever had to worry about was learning to hunt/ gather. All of a sudden, one day, random strangers who you didn't invite barge into your home, grab you and your family and make you walk thousands of miles away from your home just so that they can destroy it and build their homes on top of it. And if you took a break when walking, you would be beaten or killed. You might even see your best friends or your closest family members drop from starvation, dehydration, or disease and not get back up. If you were a Cherokee, don't you think that you would have a problem with the simple term 'relocation'? It is incredibly offensive. I hope that I cleared this up for you some.

Bumek [7]

Answer:

b. courts must look beyond the plain meaning of a statute to consider the law's legislative purpose.

Explanation:

Sociological jurisprudence maintains that courts must look beyond the plain meaning of a statute to consider the law's legislative purpose. Sociological jurisprudence is concerned with social effect of legal doctrines, institutions and practices, the influence of the law within the society and the influence of social phenomena or activities on the substantive and procedural aspect of laws. Sociological jurisprudence suggest that the court must consider the social effect of a statute and not just its legislative purpose.
