Answer:

A. He says that the natives "tolerate" the imperialist armies' rifles, when those rifles are actually killing the natives.

Explanation:

The natives tolerate the rifles while fighting with sticks. This is clear sarcasm, since they were dying because of the oppression caused by the fire arms of the European people. The "fearless" soldiers who had a clear unfair advantage on the battle field.

Hail ye your fearless armies,

Which menace feeble folks

Who fight with clubs and arrows

and brook your rifle’s smoke.

What is the overall tone of the watsons go to Birmingham
slamgirl [31]

k

Explanation:

There are different tones in this novel. At times it is humorous and at others it is reflective. Byron comes up with some pretty funny lines like,

"I sure wish someone would come clean and tell me who my real folks was, there just ain't no way in hell two people as ugly as your momma and daddy could ever have a child as fine as me!"

At other times the tone is brutally honest and reflective,

"I've often told you that as Negroes the world is many times a hostile place for us." I saw Mr. Alums walking back and forth whacking a yardstick in his hand. "I've pointed out time and time again how vital it is that one be able to read well."

Sometimes it mixes and varies between tones.. sometimes comedic or reflective very changing, like every long story.

jolli1 [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

My first reaction would be to scream and jump out of the cupboard. After that I would try to calm down and pick myself up from that. Ask who and what they are doing there and based on that I would base my next move. If he said I'm a soul who cant move on and told to pray so it can than pray. If it said it wants a friend than I would become its friend. When it can move on I would say my good byes and hope for its happiness.
