For James Arthur Baldwin, the answer is A. He was a sharp critic of the narrations based on facts and suffering of the Black Race. He expressed his justified rage with mild confrontation and an aggressive style. He was prepared to hurt in his writing if it was needed but he always kept his dignity with an essential balance. We can say that his style was to reach consciences by way of minds and he was willing to forgive, but unwilling to forget.

For Zora Neale Hurston, the answer is C. Her essays were personal narratives, autobiographical and she didn't wish for pity. She was willing to bury the painful memories of the Negro suffering because she was a spiritualist person and a philosopher. She used to say that black and white were alternative beats of the same heart and even though she was a granddaughter of slaves, she usually tended to reach consciences with the heart. Her writing was a prose with a poetic heart.

How do you write a quote sandwich?
Sveta_85 [38]

1. Before you use a quote in your paper as evidence, you must first introduce it so that the reader knows it’s coming and you can transition smoothly from your thoughts to evidence or information from your source. It is important to introduce your quote so you do not confuse your reader about its relevance or appropriateness.

2. After you incorporate the quote into the paper, you will want to provide it with not only an analysis of the quotation but also an explanation for why it’s important. Think of your quote and its analysis as the meat, cheese, lettuce, and condiments of a sandwich: these are the key items that you want to address so your reader knows why you chose the quote. The amount of discussion varies on the length of the quote. Sometimes students find it useful to write at least three or four good sentences to fully explain or analyze the quote. Also, if you are using a block quote, you will want to begin your discussion of the quote without any indentations and resume typing in a double-spaced format.

3. Lastly, ask yourself: how does the quote connect to your thesis or the main point that you’re making in the paragraph? This is where that other slice of bread becomes handy. You want to conclude your discussion of the quote with a statement that refers back to your thesis or main point of the paragraph. This slice of bread, or final statement, ties your thoughts and the evidence together more cohesively.

antoniya [11.8K]

D) The Joy Luck Club

The "Joy Luck Club" is the only book in this list that is written by Amy Tan. The other novels are all written by other authors. "The House on Mango Street" was written by Sandra Cisneros. It is also a book of vignettes, but her story is about her Mexican culture in America. The book "Little Women" was written by Louisa May Alcott. It is about 4 sisters. "The Woman Warrior" was written by Maxine Hong Kingston, who is Chinese American like Amy Tan.
