Assuming that the Soviet Union had provided its support to North Korea to invade South Korea,  Harry Truman, the then U.S. President and his advisers went through their policy of containment. Following this policy of containment, he refused to allow communism to spread any part of the world. Therefore, within two days of the invasion by North Korea, the United States rallied the U.N. Security Council to announce its support for South Korea. Accordingly, President Truman ordered the U.S. troop employed in Japan to move to South Korea.
