Find the values of x and y

Mathematics

Answer:

You can find out x and y by solving these equations simultaneously.

First case:

according to the opposite angle theorem, (18y+5)° = (10x-61)°

Now let's simplify them;

18y-10x = -66

y= (10x-66) ÷ 18......................(i)

Second case:

Around that centre, it is always 360°.

And the angle opposite to the (x+10)v is also (x+10)°.

And sum of these 4 angles is 360°.

(18y+5)° + ( 10x-61)° + (x +10)° + (x +10)°= 360°

18y + 12x -36 = 360°

18y + 12x = 396...........................(ii)

Now replace the value of y from (i) into (ii):

18 ((10x-66) ÷ 18) +12x =396

(10x-66) +12x = 396

22x -66 = 396

22x = 462

x = 21

Now let's put this value of x into our equation (i):

y= (10(21)-66) ÷ 18

y= 8

Cheers :)

Use the distributive property to write an expression that is equivalent to each given property.
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

-6x+12

-9+5a

7x+63

8y-4/5x-12

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve these all you have to do is take the number outside of the parenthesis and multiply them by each term.

-3(2x)-3(-4) All I did here was expand the problem to show what i mean by terms.

-6x+12

Do this for each problem.

0.1(-90)+0.1(50a)

-9+5a

-7(-x)-7(-9) For this one you are taking negatives times negatives so each answer will be positive.

7x+63

4/5(10y)+4/5(-x)+4/5(-15)

8y-4/5x-12

Line i and line h intersect at what point
Svet_ta [14]

Step-by-step explanation: The intersection of two figures can

be defined as the set of points that is contained in both figures.

In this figure, lines h and i intersect at C or we can

say that C is the intersection of lines h and i.

In this figure, C is the intersection of lines h and i

because C is the point contained by both h and i.

The area of square is 64cm square .find its length
Vika [28.1K]

Answer:

8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Because A=a*a

Area equals length times length

So, 8 is the length

64 divided by some number must equal the exact same number. Let me show what I am talking about.

Our length is a. We multiply a times itself (because that's the formula for the square's area)

Does this number exist?

Yes, it does.

And it's a whole number.

And we know from our times tables that 8*8=64

Hope it helped you
