Serggg [28]

So the slope is 200 as he gains $200 each day

and the y intercept is 500, since he receives the $500 only once

y = 200x + 500

The height h of an arrow in feet is modeled by h(t) = -16t^2 + 63t +4, where t is the time in seconds since the arrow was shot.
FinnZ [79.3K]
If the arrow is in the air, then when it hits the ground, h(t)=0. So:
0=-16t²+63t+4
16t²-63t-4=0
(16t+1)(t-4)=0
t= -1/16 or 4
Using the positive result of 4, we get t=4 seconds as the time the arrow was in the air

The first four terms of a sequence are shown below: 7, 4, 1, -2 Which of the following functions best defines this sequence? A.f
liubo4ka [24]

Answer:

Option (B) is correct.

The sequence that best defines the function is f(1) = 7, f(n + 1) = f(n) - 3; for n ≥ 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given sequence 7 ,4, 1,-2

We have to choose a function from given options that best defines this sequence.

Let f(n) denotes the value at nth position,

Like f(1) = 7 , so here, n= 1.

Since next term is 4 = f(2)

4 can be written as 7 - 3 = f(1) -3

Next term is 1 = f(3)

1 can be written as 4-1 = f(2) - 3

Next term is -2 = f(4)

-2 can be written as 1-3 = f(3) - 3

Thus, following the sequence and writing in general form for n

f(n+1) = f (n) -3 , n ≥ 1

Thus, option (B) is correct.

The sequence that best defines the function is f(1) = 7, f(n + 1) = f(n) - 3; for n ≥ 1

Thomas made 8700mL of tomato soup. He packed 1.6L of the soup in his kids' lunches. He then froze half of the remaining soup. Ho
Nitella [24]

Let's convert the 8700mL to L so that we can use the information in the problem more easily and swiftly. Since 1000mL is the same thing as 1L, we can say that 8700 mL of tomato soup is equal to 8.7L of tomato soup.

First, we know that he removed 1.6L to put in his kids' lunches. Thus, we now have 7.1L remaining. Now, we know that he froze half of this. Half of 7.1L is 3.55L (7.1L/2 = 3.55L), which means that he froze 3.55L. Finally, we will need to convert this back to mL. Since 1L is equal to 1000mL, we can multiply 3.55 by 1000 to get 3550mL.
