The answer is 3(x minus 2) + d = 2x-6 because...

3 x- 2+ x = 2x - 6 —-> simplify 3x + x
2x-2= 2x - 6 ——> subtract 2x from both sides
and you get

-2=6, so the answer is not solution since -2 cannot equal 6.

Hope this helps!

The area of a circular wave expands across a still pond such that its radius increases by 14 cm each second. Write a formula for
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

A = π(14t)²

Step-by-step explanation:

The radius is increasing at the rate of 14 cm per second.

We need to find the formula for the area A of the circle as the function of time t.

Initial area of the circle,

A = πr², where r is the radius of the circle

Area as a function of t will be :

A = π(14t)²

Here, 14t is the radius of the wave.

Can anyone help me with #3 on this please
spayn [35]

Answer:

So I can't actually do this at the moment but I'll try to explain what to do

first find the area of the rectangle (12x16)

then, the confusing part, pretend the semicircle is a full circle and find the area and divide by 2

add the two up and put cm^{2} and that should be it

Pls help! Solve the equation by using quadratic formula. <br><br> -2x’2 + 4x = 5
OleMash [197]

Answer:

x=\frac{2\pm i\sqrt{6}}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

-2x^2+4x=5\\\\-2x^2+4x-5=0\\\\x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\\ \\x=\frac{-4\pm\sqrt{(4)^2-4(-2)(-5)}}{2(-2)}\\\\x=\frac{-4\pm\sqrt{16-40}}{-4}\\\\x=\frac{-4\pm\sqrt{-24}}{-4}\\ \\x=\frac{-4\pm2i\sqrt{6}}{-4}\\ \\x=\frac{2\pm i\sqrt{6}}{2}
